Psychiatrie Verlag

Improving Psychosocial Mental Health Care Together!
Psychiatrie Verlag is a specialist publisher for social psychiatry. This term describes a holistic approach that focuses not only on the medical aspects of mental illness, but also on its social consequences. The aim of social psychiatry is to provide professional support to people experiencing mental crises and mental illnesses, preferably within their own living environment, and to ensure their participation in society. At the center of this approach is the individual person, with their unique situation and personal living conditions.
In addition to professional and educational books, as well as journals for mental health professionals, our program also includes guides, self-help books, first-hand accounts by people with lived experience of mental illness and children’s books that support people experiencing mental crises or mental illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.
Our program is aimed at professionals in the psychiatric and psychosocial fields — including social workers, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, and mental health nurses — as well as teachers and students, adults, adolescents and children with mental illnesses, their relatives and interested general readers.
