Armin Landmann

Dr. Armin Landmann grew up in the Tyrolean mountains and has been familiar with Alpine nature since his earliest youth. Initially, he was mainly interested in ornithology, but since the 1980s he has also been increasingly involved with other vertebrates and insects as well as landscape ecology and conservation biology. In 1996, he habilitated with a thesis on high mountain ecology in the Alps and the Himalayas. In addition to teaching at secondary schools and the University of Innsbruck, he has been working for decades as a freelance field biologist and as an expert in nature conservation and environmental education. So high mountains and alpine ecology hold a special fascination for him.
