The manual

How do you get people talking about climate in a way that motivates them to act? This handbook helps – scientifically sound, systematically structured, written for practical use.

The climate concerns us all. But talking about it the “right” way is not so easy! Especially if you want to promote climate protection – whether professionally or voluntarily, whether in companies or in politics, in science or civil society, in authorities or the media. There is no way around communication, because before solar plants can be erected, a municipal climate concept can be adopted or vegetarian catering can be offered, it is necessary to write, speak, discuss and listen. That’s climate communication.

This handbook helps to choose the right approach for the respective target group, presents methods, contains practical instructions and offers tips and tricks for difficult situations.

Christopher Schrader

Christopher Schrader was, among other things, an editor at the Süddeutsche Zeitung for 15 years, since 2015 he has been working as a freelance science journalist in Hamburg. Although he is a physicist, he now attaches greater importance to the social sciences in tackling the climate crisis.
