Living soil, agroforestry and regenerative hydrology

This resource book, based on interviews with specialists (soil, agroforestry, regenerative hydrology), first of all takes stock of the water situation in Europe: droughts, floods… too much water, not enough water? climate change is very much a reality.

It then presents the current state of knowledge on hydrological cycles and ways of managing rainwater runoff for optimal gains, without sacrificing soil fertility.

Finally, it proposes technical solutions, again through discussions with specialists, citizens, and local elected officials, who have implemented experiments and effective solutions: rain gardens, sponge cities, keyline design and anti-erosion systems, draining valleys, Benjes hedges, fascines, baissières, adapted plantations with regenerative agriculture for the restoration of hydrological cycles and soil fertilization… With examples of successful developments, such as in Muttersholtz, in Alsace, labeled “French Capital of Biodiversity”.

The book was written in parallel with the film directed by documentary filmmaker Marc Khanne, which will be released in the fall on the Pom.tv platform.
