We are what we eat and what our body needs

The book is aimed at all those who have decided to take their lives and health into their own hands and to get rid of obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue, gastrointestinal complaints. Or simply to live healthier because they have become convinced that our health goes through the gut.

Tomasi suggests in her book to reflect critically on our own nutritional style and creates clarity regarding the so-called certainties and facts of our today’s diet, which have been claimed for decades, and about the ones which still have no faultless scientific evidence: The role of carbohydrates, fats and protein, the impact of harmful sugar etc. We are what we eat and what our body makes of it!

  • –  Guide on how to get rid of obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue and gastrointestinal complaint
  • –  With 80 recipes for a truly healthy and balanced diet

Cristina Tomasi

Cristina Tomasi was born in 1965 in Bolzano. She studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck, where she specialised in internal medicine and angiology. For about 14 years she was a doctor in the department of internal medicine at the hospital in Bolzano, and for ten years now she has been running her own practice in Bolzano. As a doctor at the hospital, she founded outpatient clinics for venous thromboembolic diseases and for heart failure. She published her experiences and research in renowned journals and organised congresses in South Tyrol with internationally recognised experts. Shaken by the spread of osteoporosis and the ignorance of the population, as a freelance doctor she first founded the Osteoporosis Centre, later the ONLUS Osteoporosis Association SOF (South Tyrolean Osteoporosis Foundation). In order to inform the population about health issues, she has been in charge of an Italian-language radio programme in South Tyrol for three years and, since February 2012, the weekly health page in the daily newspaper "Dolomiten". Dr Cristina Tomasi is married to Dr Helmuth Ruatti, also a doctor specialising in anaesthesia and resuscitation. Together they have a son, Oliver. Healthy nutrition is a daily topic of discussion in the Tomasi household. For some years now, they have been following a Paleo diet - and feel completely well and healthy.
