How to Practice Dreamtime Awareness

Maintaining awareness while dreaming is one of the most direct and practical methods for understanding the nature of reality. Drawing on the teachings of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, this guide offers detailed instructions for cultivating lucid dream awareness and utilizing it as a foundation for spiritual realization.

The authors present a progression of dream yoga practices, including pre-sleep purification, correct postures, and visualiza- tions. Their exercises will enable you to influence, multiply, and expand your dream experiences. They demonstrate how to rec- ognize dream phenomena as illusory and apply this recognition to everyday perception, which is crucial for cultivating nondual awareness.
Practical instructions are given for identifying the dream state and maintaining lucidity to effectively modify your dream narra- tives. By consistently advancing on this path, you will realize the true nature of the mind. The authors also reveal how dream yoga supports the bardo teachings and prepares the practitioner for death and rebirth. A comprehensive roadmap rooted in an authentic lineage, Dzogchen Dream Yoga demonstrates how to deepen your medi- tation practice to cultivate awareness while dreaming to enhance focus and illuminate the waking experience.
