Éditions Michel Lafon

In 1980, Michel Lafon created his own publishing house, with an already rich and atypical background in which he was in turn a press owner (he created the magazine Podium, then directed Hachette Presse Jeunesse) and a television producer.

This plurality, this taste for quality culture for the general public quickly became the hallmark of a publishing house which, with more than 150 books a year, has become one of the most important in France, without giving up its independence.

The result is a catalogue of great variety.

– Emblematic testimonies of a world on the move and documents that are widely reported in the media because they offer a different vision of current events;
– Novels signed by the greatest writers of contemporary literature, which allow the reader to escape while awakening his conscience;
– Thrillers that leave no respite to the reader and use the most unusual means for guaranteed thrills;
– A wealth of children’s literature, exploring fantastic worlds that are popular with young and old alike;
– Beautiful event books, which celebrate the men who made our History, our passions, the France of the soils or the flavours of childhood…

Distributed in France and in all French-speaking countries (Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg) by Editis-Interforum and ADP couriers (Canada), Editions Michel Lafon benefits from a particularly balanced distribution between the two largest networks, namely bookshops (1st and 2nd level) and supermarkets.

This excellent visibility is further enhanced by regular partnerships with retailers (Fnac, Virgin, Cultura, etc.), online sales sites and extensive poster and promotional campaigns.

Finally, with the support of UNESCO, the publishing house has developed a collection of school books for African pupils and students.
