He gained valuable experience at a young age in the renowned kitchens of Europe's top hotels (for example in Gstaad, Lugano, Seefeld and Munich). For many years afterwards, he put his heart and soul into teaching, passing on his love and passion for the cooking profession to young people. Today, Gasteiger organises events and works as a creative product developer and innovative food designer in the food and delicatessen sector. More than a million cookbooks sold speak for themselves: the "So kocht Südtirol" team of Heinrich Gasteiger, Gerhard Wieser and Helmut Bachmann has joined the ranks of bestselling culinary authors - and not just yesterday. The recipe for success of the three chefs is simple: universally comprehensible, tried and tested recipes with a guarantee of success and a wide range of topics from culinary classics to newly interpreted standard dishes to innovative dishes from modern cuisine. Thanks to this recipe for success, "So kocht Südtirol", her standard work on Mediterranean and South Tyrolean cuisine, "So Backt Südtirol", which was awarded a silver medal by the Gastronomische Akademie Deutschlands (GAD), and the compact cookbook series "So genießt Südtirol", which includes more than 25 titles, are now part of the inventory in the kitchens of South Tyroleans and South Tyrolean lovers.
