Origins, experience, practice. Everything you need to know and find out about making a synergistic vegetable garden: this book is the result of the passion and dedication of the members of the Free School of Synergistic Agriculture, and brings together the writings and experience of Emilia Hazelip, founder of this approach, and the many experiences carried out in the field.

The book lays out the principles of synergistic agriculture: from preparatory tillage to the systematic use of mulch and raised beds. It suggests in detail how to achieve an abundant and high quality production with minimal intervention and maximum respect for the natural environment.

The book also explains the philosophical and scientific concepts behind the development of synergistic agriculture. Emilia Hazelip invites the reader to approach working in the garden as caring for an ever-evolving living system, conveying wonder at the incredible complexity of relationships that underlie plant life.

The final part of the book includes testimonies from those who have put these teachings into practice by successfully growing a synergistic garden on their own land or in their community.

Emilia Hazelip

The Free School of Synergistic Agriculture Emilia Hazelip, born out of Emilia Hazelip's collaboration with Antonio De Falco and Fortunato Fabbricini, is today the point of reference for the practice and teaching of synergistic agriculture in Italy. The courses that the school periodically organizes have seen new synergistic gardens spring up in every corner of the country and have led more and more people to approach the individual thought and philosophy of Emilia Hazelip.
