The Journey of the Soul

Every event of the Odyssey and every one of its characters is not only part of an ancient myth: they are living archetypes in our unconscious. Painter Stefano Fusi has illustrated them, freely inspired by their magic, and each image comes with a short text that makes it easy to use as an oracle.

Ask your heart a question, focus on a doubt or a desire, and let the image and its text guide you. Each card carries two divinatory meanings, one apparent and one hidden, its shadow side, because in human affairs there is always a hidden and opposite side woven into the obvious one. Each card also offers advice on how to face the situation it shows: the deck is a map for finding your way inward, with its places, its encounters and the stages of an endless journey.

Odysseus is all of us. His voyage can be read as a great metaphor for life: the birth of consciousness, the gradual discovery of oneself, the search for one’s limits and the attempt to overcome them. Penelope, Telemachus, the Sirens, Calypso and Circe, Nausicaa, the gods and the monsters are all facets of our complex soul, and Ithaca, the home Odysseus longs for, stands for our own identity, our history and the possibility of becoming whole again.
