How to grow your own mushrooms on the balcony or even on your coffee table

The mushroom season is already underway. In fact, mushrooms are in season all year round at home! It couldn’t be easier to grow your own mushrooms at home: shiitake & co. sprout both indoors and out. All they need is a place in the shade and regular showers. Magdalena Wurth and Moritz Wildenauer reveal how to grow all sorts of mushrooms in the garden or in the city – on hardwood, straw, or even materials that usually go to waste, like coffee grounds. The joy of mushrooms has never been so sustainable! Find out which varieties suit you best. Perhaps you’re an individualist who likes to head to the cellar to grow your mushrooms, or maybe you’re more of a community gardener? You can also discover your wild side and watch those mushrooms grow on vertical gardens and in the gaps between buildings. One thing is for sure: whatever you do, you’re sure to grow fond of your beloved mushrooms. Make room for mushrooms!

Magdalena Wurth’s
