Buddhism and Shamanism: A Spiritual Heart-to-Heart

Letting go, acceptance, and goodwill: these are the intentions of the journey on which this work takes us, bringing together theory, practice, and poetry. Welcome to the heart of deep nature…

Both a practitioner of vipassana for twenty years and a teacher of drum shamanism in the core shamanism tradition, Laurent Huguelit invites us on a complete overview of the orientations, intentions, and revolutions that Buddhism and shamanism have in common.
Accompanied by the guardian spirits of the forest, the steppe, the mountains, and spiritual worlds, the author travels Buddha’s Noble Eightfold Path (the way to consciousness in eight stages) in light of shamanic practices.

From the initiation vision to full awakening, numerous exercises form this walk toward the summits of the heart-spirit: taking refuge, statement of intent, practice of perfections, meditation, and shamanic journey with sights on fusional asceticism, the Buddhist diet or the Dhamma (Dharma) diet, which the author developed in order to re-center, recover strength and clarity, and reconnect to compassion, joy, and creativity.
