58 Exercises for Stabilisation after Stress and Trauma

Finding a foothold again in the here and now.

Stress and traumatic experiences can leave deep marks, often in the form of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress. In moments of inner chaos and overwhelm, it is especially important to find a foothold again in one’s own body and in the present.

This book helps readers understand the effects of stress and trauma better and develop a mindful way of treating themselves. It contains more than 50 proven grounding exercises that calm the nervous system and help build a stable connection to the here and now. The methods were tried out by thousands of members of an online self-help group and rated as helpful.

The exercises are easy to do, flexible, and can be adapted individually both in daily life and in a therapeutic setting. They offer concrete support on the way to more stability, safety and self-efficacy.

The book is written both for people who suffer from the consequences of stress and trauma and for professionals in therapy, medicine and counselling.
