Endgame for Humanity

The goal of the Paris Climate Conference of 2015 to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius is considered a failure by scientists. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, our planet is heading for a warming of at least 2.8 degrees Celsius by the end of the century. This would bring our entire planetary ecosystem to a tipping point and humanity to the brink of survival: storms, melting polar ice caps, droughts and floods will threaten cities and countries and with them the living space of millions and millions of people on all continents. How can we counteract these tipping points? Marie-Luise Wolff argues for a global policy that calls for a planetary agenda. She explains what the most important steps are and why planetary action is one of the few chances we still have to preserve a future for human life on the planet.
