The scientific publisher offers a wide range of topics through 16 subject areas, with literature for science, business, healthcare, law, and public administration. Over the past ten years, the company has also greatly expanded its portfolio into specialist non-fiction, general non-fiction, and advice books—always driven by the enthusiasm for making knowledge and education effective in a sustainable way.

Today, the Kohlhammer Group consists of four business divisions. In addition to the publishing house, these include its own printing works, a historic form-printing business (market leader in producing documents for federal, state, and municipal elections), and document and file management.
