Gerd Estermann

Gerd Estermann did his doctorate in chemistry on the subject of environmental analysis at the University of Innsbruck. He then taught chemistry for many years as a secondary school teacher and was active in adult education. Today he is a lecturer at a university for process and environmental engineering.
In addition to his work, he founded and led several citizens’ initiatives. His greatest concern is the preservation of the original nature in his homeland, the Tyrolean mountains. Most recently, a petition for glacier protection, which he initiated, collected almost 170,000 signatures.
