A practical handbook for designing a child-friendly vegetable garden. With over 40 recreational and educational activities to play, learn and grow with seeds, vegetables, herbs and whatever else nature has to offer.

A practical guide aimed at teachers, educators, parents, grandparents, or anyone who wants to plan a vegetable garden with children. It is not essential to have large plots of land: the book illustrates solutions for growing vegetables and herbs in small spaces, on school and home terraces and windowsills, or simply growing a tomato in a bottle.

Beginning with the principles of permaculture, children can design a vegetable garden just for themselves. They can make a herb spiral and a butterfly garden, experiment with the importance of recycling by building a greenhouse out of plastic bottles, and discover the tools nature already has available to protect itself, for example through plant associations, which help each other to fight off intruders.
