Successful sowing in the open ground or under cover

What is one of the greatest pleasures of amateur gardening? There’s no doubt that of seeing your seedlings come out of the ground! But those who have studied the subject know that it’s not enough to simply put a seed in potting soil. And does potting soil have to be used at all? Which seeds should I choose? And when to sow? One seed at a time? Directly in the garden? Under cover? How do you water without damaging the plants? Élise Ruiba has asked herself all these questions. In this book, she shares her know-how and guides the reader through each stage, from choosing the seeds to transplanting the plants. You’ll be amazed by your young shoots!

Elise Ruiba

After several years working in the cultural life of Nantes, Élise Ruiba chose the other culture, that of the land. Her first job was with a start-up selling organic and French seed subscriptions to individuals. In 2022, she left the city for the countryside and did what seemed to be in vogue: a professional reconversion. Today, she does what she loves: growing vegetables and working in greenhouses and fields every day. She shares her experiments in the garden on her Instagram account @sicauplants.
