Solar Splendour in the Night Sky

A magical nature photography book that leaves you in awe

The colourful spectacle of the northern lights in the sky has fascinated people since time immemorial. Nature photographer Bernd Römmelt travelled through the great landscapes of the Arctic, from Alaska across northern Canada and Greenland to Iceland and Scandinavia, and captured the aurora borealis over mountains, lakes, glaciers and forests in 160 spectacular photographs. Rare northern lights over the Alps and in the south of Germany also find their place in this book. In personal texts he tells of the fascination of this mysterious natural phenomenon, around which many myths and legends have grown. Magical moments that bring the northern lights to life, complemented by practical tips for photographing them.

“A feast for the eyes” (Die Presse)
“A magnificent illustrated book” (Schweizer Familie)
