This book aims to encourage readers to be open to the wonders that are constantly present and waiting to reveal themselves, wonders we tend to block out, above all out of fear. Yet this fear shuts us off from the magic that runs through our everyday lives. Sten Linnander’s stories of how magic became present in his own daily life give us trust in the perception of this expanded reality.

Sten Linnander has lived an extraordinary life. He initially studied theoretical physics and geophysics, but could only accept this worldview through gritted teeth. He asked himself: “Is this really all there is?” His experiences in a self-discovery commune and in the world of shamans opened him to other planes of being, allowing magic to enter his everyday life. He writes:

In a certain sense, our ordinary everyday world is already wondrous and astonishing enough. It seems to me that many people, especially non-scientists, quite readily accept various forms of magic and mystery as “real.” As for me personally, the unusual experiences I have had have changed my worldview and my view of myself. This changed worldview affected my daily life, expanded my dreams, and created new possibilities. For magic makes old, seemingly unsolvable problems appear in a different light, allowing one to begin using one’s newly discovered abilities and the consequences of a new worldview. In my opinion, we constantly prevent magic from happening by blocking or denying our perception of what we consider improbable, thereby holding ourselves back from using the magical powers we possess.

The true stories in this book show us, through example, that our everyday life holds wonders in store, and they open our consciousness to the magic in real life.
