The principales at the heart of the gesture

The culmination of 65 years of practice and research, this book details the theoretical foundations of Taijiquan (Tai Chi chuan), their application in the Yang and Chen styles, and the push-hand exercises (tui shou). Highlighting the artistic aspect of Taijiquan is also one of the book’s distinctive features.

With The Mysteries of Taijiquan, Master Sun Gen Fa seeks to pass on the legacy of his masters and the experience gained from his own practice. He proposes following the traditional path while bringing his own personal sensitivity and experience to it.

The book is divided into three main parts:

– Theory: philosophical principles, basic concepts, training principles, etc.

– Practice through three forms: a learning tao lu (author’s own creation), the Yang style’s 85-movement main form, and the Chen style’s 83-movement main form.

– The application: development of martial gestures and the spirit of combat through Tui shou, the very essence of Taijiquan.
