The basics of Shotokan karate

Essential for karate students, both children and adults, this book contains the first katas for grading from white belt to black belt. Christian Courtonne (text) and Axel Pérignon (artist) offer a clear intro- ductory method for quickly learning the precise movements of the six basic katas (the five Heian and Tekki Shodan).

A comprehensive study of each kata, with panoramic views of the va- rious execution phases, allows for better spatial awareness. The indica- tion of the sequence speed (tempo) is a major plus!

A reference work for many years, this essential practical manual is back, updated, in a new color edition.
