Simple and creative techniques, without a machine

This book explains how to combat clothing waste by repairing your clothes. With clear step-by- step instructions and detailed photos and illustrations, it explains 5 age-old techniques for patching and mending and tells the story of the origins and history of these techniques.
This book is as pleasing to the eye as it is easy to use. It focuses on the creative dimension of repairing clothes, an act that is both symbolic and practical, and which is in tune with the necessary and joyful sobriety of clothing towards which we must strive.

Émilie Pouillot-Ferrand

Émilie Pouillot-Ferrand has been working with ethical textiles for a long time and is the author of books on ethical fashion. She has long been interested in the problems and excesses of this industrial sector, which is energy-intensive, ecocidal and has little respect for human rights. The emergence of textile labels, the rise of ethical fashion and the shift in mindset brought about by the health crisis gave her the opportunity to take her research a step further and propose this publishing project, which holds out the hope of a revival in the textile industry.
