From ecological beekeeping to free evolution

Paradoxes, misconceptions and controversies about the honey bee and beekeeping

For 40 years, honey bees have been experiencing dramatic excess mortalities. Although this phenomenon is primarily linked to the contemporary systemic ecological crisis (chemical pollution, invasive non-native species, climate disruption, etc.), the consequences of the domestication of bees and the negative influence of productivism and interventionism in beekeeping (through certain intensive practices coming from professionals) are like blind spots that almost nobody talks about…

This book first aims to look this reality in the face to assess its impacts.

In a second stage, based on ongoing studies and existing projects, it takes stock of ecological solutions such as Darwinian beekeeping, even going so far as to consider the complete rewilding of part of the honey bee population as the most effective way to envisage their protection.
