Friends beyond prejudice

The book has a special format because the two stories of Cappuccino and Little Riding Hood start at the two opposite ends of the book and “meet” in the middle.

The beginning is the one we all know: a little girl has to venture into the woods to bring a cake to her sick grandmother. A dangerous journey, her mother warns her, because it is precisely among those trees that the terrible big bad wolf prowls. What we didn’t know, and what we discover by turning the book upside down and resuming the reading from the other side, is that Cappuccino (that’s the name of the wolf because of the bizarre milky colour of his fur) also has a grandmother waiting for him and a mother reminding him to beware of the cruel hunter. The only meeting, however, will be with the little girl, and for Cappuccino & Little Riding Hood it will mark the beginning of a beautiful friendship. A fairy tale for young and old that reminds us of the enormous power of curiosity to escape the rhetoric of fear.
