The art of dancing while fighting.

Is Capoeira a struggle, a dance, a Martial Art, an athletic game, or a form of
folklore?
In fact, it is all of these at once, a blend of terms that, in the Cartesian logic
of our societies, oppose each other more than they unite. It is a dance-strug
gle-game, beautiful and dangerous, harmonious and violent, poetic and bru
tal, sincere and deceptive, playful and very serious.
It is also music, song, rhythm, ritual, a language that allows each person to
express themselves, to communicate within the symbolic circle of the roda,
the circle formed by the Capoeiristas who, in turn, are spectators, musicians,
singers, and players. This circle is like a stage where the Capoeirista will de
monstrate their agility and cunning, attempting to deceive their opponent
while simultaneously playing with them. The two players are both partners
and adversaries in this game of physical dialogue that allows each person to
express themselves in their own way.
But Capoeira is also a way of seeing the world and approaching life. Pa
tience, tolerance, listening to others, and accepting differences are all part of
its teachings
