Michael Altmoos

Michael Altmoos, born in Mannheim in 1967, is an ecologist and conservationist: a graduate biologist in conservation biology (University of Marburg, 1994) with a doctorate in geography and ecology (University of Leipzig and UFZ, 1999). Since the 1990s he has combined science, education and practice in ecology and nature conservation, including in public administration (since 2020 at the Saarland Ministry of the Environment). With his family he runs his own museum, Nahe der Natur, a hands-on museum for nature conservation in Staudernheim (Rhineland-Palatinate), with eight hectares of natural grounds. He is the author of several non-fiction books.
