Lapérouse Editions

Lapérouse Editions remain faithful to the spirit of this French explorer, who led an expedition around the world, aiming to complete the discoveries of James Cook. The voyage of the two ships – L’Astrolabe and La Boussole – is the greatest scientific exploration of the 18th century. Nineteen astronomers, engineers, surgeons, botanists, naturalists, physicists and designers accompanied the 200 crew on August 1st, 1785, for a journey of four years and 150,000 km. The desire to discover new horizons and to promote the progress of knowledge is the guide of Mr. de Lapérouse.
It is in this spirit that Lapérouse editions today produce several collections to travel around the world, discover the unu- sual beauties of nature, understand the cultures of peoples, be surprised by utopias, navigate through space and time.
