André Velter

Poet, essayist, radio broadcaster and traveller, André Velter brings together poems from around the world. He directed the “Poésie/Gallimard” collection from 1998 to 2017 and has received numerous literary prizes, including the Mallarmé in 1990 and the Goncourt-Poésie in 1996 for his poetic work.

He has published numerous books, including L’Arbre-Seul (Gallimard, 1990, 2001), La Vie en dansant (Gallimard, 2000), Tant de soleils dans le sang (Alphabet de l’espace, 2008), Avec un peu plus de ciel (Gallimard, 2012), Jusqu’au bout de la route (Gallimard, 2014). He has collaborated with Ernest Pignon-Ernest on Tao du Toreo (Actes
Sud, 2014), Dans la lumière déchirante de la mer (Actes Sud, 2015) and Sur un nuage de terre ferme (Actes Sud, 2020).
