The weight of the colour pink is the weight of femininity and everything that society associates with this concept. Barely out of childhood, young girls bend under this weight and its codes, which are often more schizophrenic and liberticidal than fulfilling.

As Rosalie walks through the park, she comes across Lambert and the Poitras twins. They don’t have a good reputation, but she tries not to be impressed when the boys approach her. However, this soon turns into sexual harassment. This will leave a deep impression on her at a time when her body is changing beyond her control. In fact, everything in her life is starting to change: her best friend Anna who only talks about boys, the pressure of the adults around her, her growing breasts and all that goes with it. For Rosalie, this is difficult to accept, she is not ready to undergo all that these changes imply, the entry into adolescence (even less in a woman’s body). This novel recounts the small steps of this transition, those that are gentle and pleasant, such as meeting Mattéo, and those that are more frightening and intimidating, such as buying her first bra, or running away from the three boys who harass her.

Nathalie Lagacé

Nathalie Lagacé, a visual artist from Montreal, began her career as a television designer. She traded in her office life for a job as a bus driver. Following this experience, she wrote the novel Terminus. Having recently left the snowmen of Quebec to settle down with the cacti, under the hot Texas sun, she now surfs full time between images and words. All she has to do is scratch her pencils on paper to light up her face with a smile and her heart with happiness. She has also designed some gold collectibles, only in Canada.
