A fairy tale about transformation, the courage to love, and returning to oneself
In the magical kingdom of Prince Kevinick, everything is perfect: the land is fertile, pumpkins abound, and the young prince is brilliant and generous. However, for fear of suffering, Kevinick closes himself off to others and ends up isolating himself emotionally, until he symbolically transforms into a pumpkin: sweet on the inside, but with a hard shell.
One day, the Spirit of a man appears to him and invites him to overcome his fear and open himself up to love. After an inner journey of dreams, tears and silence, Kevinick finds the courage to listen to his heart and finally shout out the name of his beloved: Melody. When he awakens, he is no longer a pumpkin: he has become a man ready to love. He finds Melody and discovers that she has been waiting for him: they had met every night in their dreams, but now their love is real.
A bilingual Italian and English picture book, illustrated by Tiziana Biuso, for children aged 6 to 9 who are beginning to explore their deepest emotions. It also speaks to parents, educators and adults who are sensitive to the theme of self-love, and to anyone looking for a read that combines poetry, introspection and symbolism.
