A child takes her reluctant father on a walk in a forest, where they experience the mindful, sensory experience of forest bathing.

In this beautifully illustrated picture book, a child convinces her father to put away his cell phone during a stroll through the forest. She encourages him to walk slowly, inhaling the scents, listening to the sounds, and feeling the rough bark of a log on their palms and the cold water of a stream on their bare feet. The story highlights the sweet relationship between the characters. Lyrical companion text guides the reader through the mindful, sensory experience of forest bathing.

Forest Bath Right Down This Path includes nonfiction back matter that gives readers details on how and where to forest bathe. (You don’t have to be in a forest—a local park or even on an apartment balcony with potted plants yields benefits.) It also discusses the scientific evidence for the health benefits of forest bathing.
