Stafford Betty

Stafford Betty received his PhD in theology from Fordham University and taught religious studies at California State University in Bakersfield until retiring to write full time in 2020. Originally a specialist in Asian religious thought and Sanskrit, he branched out into paranormal research when he found the big questions about life’s meaning unanswered in the safe, tidy world of academic orthodoxy. He is now recognized as an international expert on afterlife studies. Throughout his teaching career he wrote and published fiction, including The Rich Man (St. Martin’s) and Thomas (Penguin). Altogether he has published 17 books of fiction and non-fiction. He lives in Bakersfield, California.
