La Louve Éditions
Founded in 2006, La Louve éditions has been dedicated to history since its inception. In several collections, covering a wide field of historical studies, she always has the concern of a certain originality: she does not intend to reboot paths already widely beaten. This is how many of his publications tackle particular subjects, little or not yet explored. In particular, she republishes, in the “Texts” collection, Memoirs, works published for some already several centuries ago, and which cannot be found today because they have never been reprinted. There are also new matches. These works are always the subject of support by a historian in order to recontextualize things. La Louve also approaches literature, with its collection of historical novels.
But why La Louve éditions? Why this name? Certainly, we think of the animal, this beautiful social animal so heavily loaded with symbols, not to speak of curses … It is not that, not only in any case. La Louve is an allusion to a 13th century Occitan historical figure, the lady of Pennautier (nowadays in the Aude), a noble lady known in her time for her great independence, to say the least, to the point that she was nicknamed the Loba, the She-wolf. Because independence is the watchword at La Louve éditions, and she wants it!
