Michelle M. May, LPC, NCC, is a psychotherapist based in Virginia and Washington, DC, distinguished for her expertise in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). She became a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor after receiving her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Michigan LSA Honors College and her master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Marymount University.

With a passion for advancing the field, Michelle serves as the chair of the ISTDP core training program at the New Washington School of Psychiatry in Washington, DC, and has been on the faculty at the New Washington School of Psychiatry since 2019.
