Florent Kohler
Florent Kohler is an anthropologist and Associate Professor at the University of Tours, France. His research bridges human societies and environmental systems, with a particular focus on indigenous and maroon communities in the Brazilian Amazon. In addition to his anthropological work, Kohler has cultivated an in-depth understanding of animal societies through years of field observations and scholarly inquiry into species such as cows, goats, jackdaws, hens, roosters, and dogs. He has presented seminars and conferences on the application of human and social sciences to the study of animal behavior and interspecies relationships. Kohler also contributed as a coordinating author to the Land Degradation and Restoration Assessment under the International Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and serves as a member of the French Nature Protection National Council.
