Piero Verni

Piero Verni, journalist, writer and documentary filmmaker lives between Brittany and Italy. For many years he has dedicated most of his work to the knowledge of Tibetan civilisation and Indo-Himalayan cultures to which he has devoted numerous reportages, books and documentaries. He has collaborated and still collaborates with several prestigious travel and geography magazines with Swiss Radio Television and Rai TV. For the Sperling&Kupfer publishing house, he directed the ‘Tibet’ series for almost a decade. Authorised biographer of the Dalai Lama, he has recently published the new, updated and expanded version of the biography of this great ethical and spiritual figure (Il Sorriso e la Saggezza-Dalai Lama, biografia autorizzato) and has just finished editing the documentary Tulku, le incarnazioni mistiche del Tibet.

Piero Verni was also one of the founders of the Italy-Tibet Association, of which he was President for the first 14 years. He is currently President of the Association ‘The Heritage of Tibet-L’Eredità del Tibet’.
