Julian Haertl

Julian Haertl was born in Hamburg in 1977 and grew up on the outskirts of the city. After gaining experience in various skilled trades, he worked in a wide range of industries. For many years he was self-employed in Germany with his own craft company. However, he found his true calling when he emigrated to Sweden in 2017: together with his family, he has been running the YouTube channel “Die Selbstversorgerfamilie” (The Self-Sufficient Family) there ever since – his first books were also created during this time. With the videos about self-sufficiency, log cabin construction, solar energy and alternative living, the self-sufficient family reaches more and more people.
