Christian COURTONNE, a physiotherapist since 1970, obtained his black belt in 1972 and his Karate instructor’s diploma in 1974. He was chosen by Master Kase to represent his team at the first IAKF Traditional Karate World Championships in 1973. From 1973 to 1976, he distinguished himself with his skills as a fighter and technician. Now a 7th dan, he is one of the greatest experts in International Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha. Drawing on his knowledge as a physiotherapist, he has written several reference works on Karate, anatomy, and practitioner health.
