Christian Sardet
Christian Sardet, Emeritus Research Director at CNRS at the BioDev laboratory of the Sea Institute of Villefranche sur Mer (CNRS and Sorbonne University), is the author of numerous publications on molecules, cells, embryos, and plankton and is the creator of award-winning films, animated films, and DVDs. He has received the Grand Prize for Marine Sciences from the Academy of Sciences and the European Prize for Communication in Life Sciences, awarded by EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization). As co-founder and coordinator of the Tara Oceans expedition dedicated to the global study of plankton, Christian Sardet founded the “Plankton Chronicles” project, in collaboration with CNRS and the Macronauts, and published “Plankton, at the Origins of Life” with Ulmer Editions, which has been translated into English, Japanese, German, and Chinese. He lives in La Gaude near Nice, France, and in Vermont, USA.
