Carme Lemniscates

Carme Lemniscates is the award-winning author, illustrator and designer of several critically acclaimed children’s books, including Seeds , Birds and Trees (Gold Nautilus Award 2018). Her mixed media work combines monotype, collage, woodcut and digital media, and each book converges with the same spirit from start to finish. Carme won the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award 2017 for El jardín mágico auto-écrit et auto-illustré . She has also illustrated I am a Warrior Goddess by Jennifer Adams, the BabyLit Little Poets series of board books by Kate Coombs and Grandmas’ Gardens by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton . In 2010, after more than fifteen years of illustrating and designing children’s books for publishers, Carme founded Lemniscates Studio in her native Barcelona to create her own children’s book projects. She has since published nine books in Spain, the US and Brazil. Her book Silence won ForeWordReviews’ Bronze Book of the Year Award in 2012, and her app Little Lost Rabbit Finds a Family was selected as one of the best children’s storybook apps by Kirkus Reviews in 2012. In 2016, she won the Serra d’Or Critics. Award for Trees , published in the UK under the title Trees .
